TRAINING
Our training techniques are adapted to fit your dog’s needs. All dogs are different and learn in a variety of ways. We use the best method of training for each dog and move at the dogs learning pace. Learning is accomplished through patience and repetition. We instill confidence in the dog so they will be a skilled and competent hunting companion. The length of training varies and is determined by the dog’s ability and the owner’s goals. Our training program includes everything from obedience, hold/fetch, steady, marking, quartering, multiple marks, how to hunt, and on through handling and blind retrieves. The number of dogs in training is limited so that every dog receives the quality time he deserves.
OWNER/HANDLER
Owner/handlers are encouraged, and expected to come and spend time learning and working with their dog. Our program is designed to make an effective hunting team. We strive to create a lasting relationship between trainer, owner and dog. A poorly mannered and poorly trained dog could ruin a hunting trip and reduce your number of hunting buddies. An obedient well-trained dog can be the highlight of the trip and get you many invitations to hunt.
BIRDS
Your dog will get great exposure to live and dead birds to ensure a realistic hunting experience.
We raise our own birds for two reasons:
- So your dog gets lots of birds
- There is no extra cost to the dog owner for bird purchases.
OBEDIENCE
All breed obedience is done on space available, teaching all basic commands plus any special needs you may have.
